The Business Objectives
When as a key component of our growth strategy we consider it critical to identify and outline our business objectives, and align these objectives with clear and measurable development milestones. Our key long term business objective is to grow revenue. Rapid revenue growth is considered the most critical and measurable business goal. At this stage of our development, we consider this to be more important than profitability growth, although both are important long term objectives.
The Customer
Boylan Bodega has been created with a clear focus on the needs of our customers. Through a structured customer discovery process, we have validated the key customer problem as the need for a convenience store in downtown Raleigh that caters to the growing young professional and student demographic in the area. This is a critical issue for our selected target market of young professionals & students.
The Value Proposition
Boylan Bodega is uniquely positioned to deliver value to young professionals & students. "Boylan Bodega will provide a convenient retail space with local craft beers, snacks and produce." In order to deliver on this value proposition, we desire to create a friendly neighborhood retail space that supports local brewers, artisans and farmers. We intend on playing a large role in our community by supporting the arts of Downtown Raleigh. This capability has taken considerable time and resources to develop and forms the cornerstone of our competitive advantage.
Competitors
We have a number of competitors within the craft beer gourmet snacks market. We consider our key competitors to be: Tasty Beverage Co., Whole Foods, Bottle Revolution. Our understanding of these competitors has been used to refine our strategy and value proposition. We believe that we can compete effectively with Tasty Beverage Co., Whole Foods, Bottle Revolution by a wide range of products offered in one convenient location, which the stated competitors can not individually offer.
Key Strategies
Over the next 6 months our focus will be raising funding for the store by using a Kickstarter Campaign. Another goal would be to use local business owners in the Downtown Raleigh area as mentors and business coaches. This task will be undertaken in the context of our broader strategy to be narrowing down our options for a physical location. We would like to lease a property in the downtown Raleigh area, between the heart of downtown and NC State University.. These strategies are a tactical implementation of our overall business goal as outlined above.
Milestones
