Lake District Explorer has a clear business objective to promote Holiday Properties and Businesses within the Lake District and Cumbria. These services have been developed over 6 months with a core focus on addressing the key customer problem and associated opportunities.

The Business Objectives

When as a key component of our growth strategy we consider it critical to identify and outline our business objectives, and align these objectives with clear and measurable development milestones. Our key long term business objective is to acquire new orders. Order acquisition is considered to be the critical activity and we are seeking to grow the number of orders. We understand that order growth could be at the expense of profitability, and that there is a cost associated with order acquisition. Our long term objective is to build a clear order acquisition process.

The Customer

Lake District Explorer has been created with a clear focus on the needs of our customers. Through a structured customer discovery process, we have validated the key customer problem as helping customers gain interest and customer aquisition themselves. This is a critical issue for our selected target market of Lake District property owners.

The Value Proposition

Lake District Explorer is uniquely positioned to deliver value to Lake District Property Owners. "Lake District Explorer will Promote your property with a dedicated directory of lake district accommodation, places to eat and drink, things to do, businesses and more, as well as guides and information for everyone interested in the lakes. A directory that aims not just at the holiday market but also shoppers, visitors, hikersand climbers, everyone that loves, lives and does business with the Lake District and Cumbria." In order to deliver on this value proposition, we have a passion for Cumbria and are dedicated to promoting business within the area. Our dedicated website is multi device capable allowing 99.9% of visitors to the site to view your business in a professionally presented format. This capability has taken considerable time and resources to develop and forms the cornerstone of our competitive advantage.

Competitors

We have a number of competitors within the Holiday Property Rental market. Our understanding of these competitors has been used to refine our strategy and value proposition. We believe that we can compete effectivel by our knowledge of the Lake District and our own capabilities of in-house website development and marketing.


Key Strategies

Over the next 6 months our focus will be to offer free listings for 12 months. This task will be undertaken in the context of our broader strategy to charge £149 per year for listings. These strategies are a tactical implementation of our overall business goal as outlined above.

Milestones

Measurement of the successful implementation of our strategies will be governed by measurable development milestones. The milestones that will be achieved over the next 2 years are:
