The Coffee Hatch 1 Page Business Plan

Gourmet Organic Tea & Coffee Business Plan

The Coffee Hatch 1 Page Business Plan

Overview

The Coffee Hatch has a clear business objective to produce Gourmet Fairtrade Organic Tea & Coffee products. These products have been developed over 3 months with a core focus on addressing the key customer pretention roblem and associated opportunities.

The Business Objectives

When as a key component of our growth strategy we consider it critical to identify and outline our business objectives, and align these objectives with clear and measurable development milestones. Our key long term business objective is to grow our revenue from our first site to £300,000 in year 1. Rapid revenue growth is considered the most critical and measurable business goal. At this stage of our development, we consider this to be as important as profitability growth, although both are important long term objectives.

The Customer

The Coffee Hatch has been created with a clear focus on the needs of our customers. Through a structured customer discovery process, we have validated the key customer problem as 'great tasting tea and coffee on the go with consistently great tasting products'. This is a critical issue for our selected target market of the 'busy commuter' and 'passing concert lover or festival goer'.

The Value Proposition

The Coffee Hatch is uniquely positioned to deliver value to the busy commuter and passing concert lovers and festival goers. "The Coffee Hatch will provide a coffee, latte, espresso or tea that you will tell your friends about!" In order to deliver on this value proposition, we will create a unique mobile app that lets repeat customers preorder and try something new, in or with their hot beverage. This capability has taken considerable time and resources to develop and forms the cornerstone of our competitive advantage.

Competitors

We have a number of competitors within the Gourmet Fairtrade Organic Tea & Coffee market. We consider our key competitors to be: AMT, Costa Coffee and Starbucks. Our understanding of these competitors has been used to refine our strategy and value proposition. We believe that we can compete effectively with AMT, Costa Coffee and Starbucks by having better quality coffee made using the best quality equipment and ingredients. Individual customer engagement and a unique technology driven loyalty scheme.

Key Strategies

Over the next 3 months our focus will be to appoint an experienced head barrista/site manager and hire and train two apprentices. This task will be undertaken in the context of our broader strategy to expand to a new London Overground or Underground Station site. These strategies are a tactical implementation of our overall business goal as outlined above.

Milestones

Measurement of the successful implementation of our strategies will be governed by measurable development milestones. The milestones that will be achieved over the next 2 years are: Obtain 1000 loyalty customers.
Launch three confectionary products.
Hire snd train four apprentices.
