Ag Immersion 1 Page Business Plan
Overview
Ag Immersion has a clear business objective to develop hands on Agriculture education. These services have been developed over 2 months with a core focus on addressing declining participation in agriculture and associated opportunities.
The Business Objectives
When as a key component of our growth strategy we consider it critical to identify and outline our business objectives, and align these objectives with clear and measurable development milestones. Our key long term business objective is to acquire students to participate. Student participation is considered to be the critical activity and we are seeking to grow the number of customers. We understand that student participation could be at the expense of profitability, and that there is a cost associated with acquiring students. Our long term objective is to build a clear student acquisition process.
The Customer
Ag Immersion has been created with a clear focus on the needs of our customers. Through a structured customer discovery process, we have validated the key customer problem as a gap in Agricultural programming for high school aged students, particularly Grade 9's. This will address declining participation and enrollment. This is a critical issue for our selected target market of Grade 9 students, educators and industry specialists.
The Value Proposition
Ag Immersion is uniquely positioned to deliver value to Grade 9 students, educators and industry specialists. "Ag Immersion will provide a program providing hands on learning experiences to increase Agriculture awareness, educate about programming and future careers in Agriculture." In order to deliver on this value proposition, we we will use examples of animal agriculture production to discuss current issues in media and to help students develop unbiased opinions of their own. This capability has taken considerable time and resources to develop and forms the cornerstone of our competitive advantage.
Competitors
There are no programs currently targeting Grade 9 students that tie into curriculum. This program will be a good way to promote the Green Certificate program which targets Grade 10-12. Our understanding of these competitors has been used to refine our strategy and value proposition. We believe that we can compete effectively with There are no programs currently targeting Grade 9 students that tie into curriculum. This program will be a good way to promote the Green Certificate program which targets Grade 10-12. This program will talk about other programs which are available for Grade 9's to get involved with such as 4-H. This will help promote enrolment in other programs.
Key Strategies
Over the next 6 months our key tasks are to secure and develop support and funding from different industry groups and develop support from teachers and school boards. Finally we want to find an organization to take over the program for the future if we are unable to continue with it. This task will be undertaken in the context of our broader strategy to provide a business plan which will outline everything required to run future programming. Support and interest from commodity groups and schools will drive the program and the direction of the program in the future. These strategies are a tactical implementation of our overall business goal as outlined above.
Milestones
Measurement of the successful implementation of our strategies will be governed by measurable development milestones. The milestones that will be achieved over the next 2 years are: Secure funding, tie into grade 9 curriculum and gain support of school boards, and assure sustainability by finding an organization to adopt or support the program
