Overview
Catholic Art and More has a clear business objective to develop, produce, promote and distribute High-Quality Catholic Art Reproductions products. These products have begun development over the equivalent of 3 months, with a core focus on addressing the key customer problem and associated opportunities.
The Business Objectives
As a key component of my growth strategy I consider it critical to identify and outline my business objectives, and align these objectives with clear and measurable development milestones. My key long term business objective is to launch a new product. Whilst my existing products have been useful for testing the customer problem, new products are required to fully capitalise on our business potential. My growth path is clearly oriented around the addition of new products, the development of these new products and the subsequent marketing of these. It is understood that costs will be associated with product development and marketing and these have been allowed for in my budget.
The Customer
Catholic Art and More has been created with a clear focus on the needs of my customers. Through a structured customer discovery process, I have validated the key customer problem as: The need for inspirational, beautiful, prayerful Catholic Art. This is a critical issue for my selected target market of Middle-aged Catholic women.
The Value Proposition
Catholic Art and More is uniquely positioned to deliver value to Middle-aged Catholic women. "Catholic Art and More will Provide original, different, beautiful, inspiring artwork for Catholics in vibrant colors with archival reproduction quality." In order to deliver on this value proposition, I, as a lifelong Catholic, and a consecrated secular Carmelite; as well as a University of California professionally trained fine art painter, deliver the soulful, prayerful, loving sense of beauty with clarity of imagery that people hunger for today.. This capability has taken decades of time and resources to develop and forms the cornerstone of my competitive advantage.
Competitors
I have a number of competitors within the High-Quality Catholic Art Reproductions market. I consider our key competitor to be: Lawrence Klimecki (I will research and add others, with analysis, later). My understanding of these competitors has been used to refine my strategy and value proposition. I believe that I can compete effectively with Lawrence Klimecki by my having a painterly approach that appeals very much to the heart, & that this well distinguishes my work..
Key Strategies
Over the next 6 months my focus will be to draw and paint, on a daily basis, images that Christ has presented to me. This task will be undertaken in the context of my broader strategy to promote my product and attract Catholic customers. These strategies are a tactical implementation of my overall business goal as outlined above.
Milestones
Measurement of the successful implementation of my strategies will be governed by measurable development milestones. The milestones that will be achieved over the next 2 years are: having 50 blog visitors per day; having a body of work comprised of 50 finished paintings in Catholic Art and More, displayed via ETSY.com; and obtaining 100 Catholic customers.
