Malaveh Malka 1 Page Business Plan
Overview
The proposed program of a Malaveh Malka has a business objective to produce Saturday night cafe with food and beverages as well as music, hopefully live music. This program will be developed as the first in many programs at Beth Israel with a core focus on addressing key problems of attrition and relevancy of the temple in the daily lives of the inhabitants of the Jackson area throughout the age groups.
The Business Objectives
When as a key component of our growth strategy we consider it critical to identify and outline our business objectives, and align these objectives with clear and measurable development milestones. Our key long term business objective is to launch the first of many new programs. Whilst our existing services that exist at Beth Israel fill great needs in the membership, new programs are required to fully capitalise on our business potential. Our growth path is clearly oriented around the addition of new programs, the development of these new programs and the subsequent marketing of these. It is understood that costs will be associated with product development and marketing and these have been allowed for in our budget.
The Customer
Malaveh Malka has been created with a clear focus on the needs of our members and potential members as well as the wider community. Through a membership needs assessment process, the board has validated a key problem as a social outlet for the Jewish and wider community Jackson Mississippi area utilizing Beth Israel as a focal point.. This is a critical issue for our selected target market of Jews and those interested in associating with Jews at the synagogue in a variety of activities.
The Value Proposition
The Malaveh Malka program is uniquely positioned to deliver value to Jews and those interested in associating with Jews. "Malaveh Malka will Provide a service that increases the centrality of the synagogue in their lives." In order to be deliver on this value proposition, we will be Providing a social outlet Within the synagogue context. This capability to provide this activity within the synagogue context forms the cornerstone of our competitive advantage.
Competitors
We have a number of competitors within the cafe with music market. There are cafes and music available, but none at the synagogue . Our understanding of these competitors has been used to refine our strategy and value proposition. We believe that we can compete effectively with those cafes due to this location at the synagogue and within its context as a place that we can congregate not just for prayer but also for social outlets and to begin to turn Beth Israel into a lively and "happening" place.
Key Strategies
The first step will be to Get board approval. This task will be undertaken in the context of our broader strategy to Have regular activities that fulfill a broad range of needs for our community including socialization, education, psychological, mental health and social needs across the life cycle. These activities and programs are a tactical implementation of our overall goal as outlined above.
Milestones
Measurement of the successful implementation of our strategies will be governed by measurable development milestones. The milestones that will be achieved over the short run are: Get board approval; plan the melaveh malka program including entertainment, food whether prepared or purchased and beverages whether serving lattes or alcohol as well as Market it to the community
