This puts us in a position where we have no local competition. With Pets At Home we have a advantage as they do not supply equestrian products so we would have a great deal of the market for ourselves.. This capability has taken considerable time and resources to develop and forms the cornerstone of our competitive advantage.
Competitors
We have a number of competitors within the Pet Foods and accessories market. We consider our key competitors to be: Pets at Home the nearest competition with a expensive pricing structure we will aim to be cheaper or at the least the same retail price on most items the advantage we do have over this company is they do not supply equestrian feeds or equipment so we will have a fair share of the market without the competion. . Our understanding of these competitors has been used to refine our strategy and value proposition. We believe that we can compete effectively with Pets at Home with what We will offer to our customers. Friendly service with a wide range of all the best brands available. The customers needs will always be met! We will provide staff to carry items to customers cars as some items are large and heavy we will work on the principle if a customer wants a specific item and we have not got it then we will get it! Possibly a delivery service to surrounding local areas is something we can look into..
Key Strategies
Over the next 6 months our focus will be to Advertise strongly in all surrounding areas with leaflet dropping and internet.. This task will be undertaken in the context of our broader strategy.In our first year we aim to attract 10% of the 50% of households with animals within the surrounding areas with a 5% increase year upon year.. These strategies are a tactical implementation of our overall business goal as outlined above.
Milestones
Measurement of the successful implementation of our strategies will be governed by measurable development milestones. The milestones that will be achieved over the next 2 years are: Hit a target of 1000 customers per week Open a second store. Eventually a Chain of pet food retailing shops
