CBG, Inc 1 Page Business Plan
Overview
CBG, Inc has a clear business objective to grow and distribute locally grown organic produce to our community in Galveston County, TX. The CBG team has more than 30 years of research and development gleaned from professors and experts in the field to build from.
The Business Objectives
When as a key component of our growth strategy we consider it critical to identify and outline our business objectives, and align these objectives with clear and measurable development milestones. Our key business objective is to have 500 CSA customers by end of year three. Customer acquisition is considered to be the most critical activity going forward. We understand that customer growth can often come at the expense of profitability, and that there is normally a cost associated with customer acquisition. Our short term objective is to build a clear customer acquisition process that takes this into account.
The Customer
CBG, Inc has been created with a clear focus on the needs of our customers. Through a structured customer discovery process, we have validated the key customer problem as the limited access to local organic vegetables in our community. This is a critical issue for our selected target market of people in the community.
The Value Proposition
CBG, Inc is uniquely positioned to deliver value to people in our community.. "CBG, Inc will provide families healthy fresh locally grown organic vegetables.." In order to deliver on this value proposition, through the use of community supported agriculture and aquaponics, CBG can provide fresher, more nutritious produce to our community. This capability has taken considerable time and resources to develop and forms the cornerstone of our competitive advantage.
Competitors
We have no commercial competitors within the locally grown vegetables market. We have two grocers in the area ( HEB & Kroger) but most of their produce is imported and not organic or locally grown. Our understanding of these competitors has been used to refine our strategy and value proposition. We believe that we can compete effectively with grocers in the area by utilizing our community farm, positioned right in the neighborhood. Local produce, not imported. Family owned and operated. Neighbors will know who grew their veggies, how they produced them organically and exactly where their food was grown.
Key Strategies
CBG will initially work to build a 150 member customer base through social and community networking. Getting to know who our customer is by researching our founding base, will help us pinpoint our demographic and move forward with customer acquisition. This task will be undertaken in the context of our broader strategy to have 500 customers after year three. These strategies are a tactical implementation of our overall business goal as outlined above.
Milestones
Measurement of the successful implementation of our strategies will be governed by measurable development milestones. The milestones that will be achieved over the next 3 years are: Year One 166 Customers Year Two Add 167 New Customers Year Three Add 167 New Customers
