Telsmith Inc. 1 Page Business Plan

Overview

The Telsmith Parts Department has a clear business objective to promote parts sales for Telsmith equipment products and services in Latin America. These products and services have been developed over 100 years with a core focus on addressing the key customer problem and associated opportunities.

The Business Objectives

When as a key component of our growth strategy we consider it critical to identify and outline our business objectives, and align these objectives with clear and measurable development milestones. Our key long term business objective is to grow revenue. Rapid revenue growth is considered the most critical and measurable business goal. At this stage of our development, we consider this to be more important than profitability growth, although both are important long term objectives.

The Customer

Telsmith Inc. has been created with a clear focus on the needs of our customers. Through a structured customer discovery process, we have validated the key customer problem as the elimination of down time. This is a critical issue for our selected target market of mines and large scale operations.

The Value Proposition

Telsmith Inc. is uniquely positioned to deliver value to mines and large scale operations. "Telsmith Inc. will provide parts and service for the life of our equipment to ensure lots of up time and the highest production possible." In order to deliver on this value proposition, we provide comprehensive spare parts lists for our equipment with the best service technicians and application engineers to ensure quality product and hight volume output. This capability has taken considerable time and resources to develop and forms the cornerstone of our competitive advantage.

Competitors

We have a number of competitors within our market in Latin America. We consider our key competitors to be: Metso, KPI, and JCI. Our understanding of these competitors has been used to refine our strategy and value proposition. We believe that we can compete effectively with Metso, KPI, and JCI by providing focused and superior parts and service support in Latin America.

Key Strategies

Over the next 6 months our focus will be to work with the equipment sales department to make sure a spare parts list is supplied and presented to the end user of every equipment sale. This task will be undertaken in the context of our broader strategy to start follow ups with every large equipment sale in Latin America in the last five years to sell spare parts according to customers unique demands and consumable usages. These strategies are a tactical implementation of our overall business goal as outlined above.

Milestones

Measurement of the successful implementation of our strategies will be governed by measurable development milestones. The milestones that will be achieved over the next 2 years are:
1) Every end user who buys a piece of equipment is presented with a spare parts list
2) Yearly follow ups with for every crusher using Telsmith consumables
3) Doubling spare parts orders
