St. Francis Farms has a clear business objective to develop autistic adult career and life skills in a loving and encouraging, non-exploitative, and humanistic environment based on the Catholic ethos of a Christian community. These services have been developed over many years of professional schooling and experience with a core focus on addressing the challenge of career planning and basic care for the 1 in 50 adults who have autism with few support program which service in the Western region U.S. as the key issue facing our society and families in the upcoming decade. The opportunity to serve this community creates new resources for unique labor that may not be easily met in the neurotypical community.

As a key component of our growth strategy we consider it critical to identify and outline our business objectives, and align these objectives with clear and measurable development milestones. Our key long term business objective is to grow revenue. Rapid revenue growth is considered the most critical and measurable business goal. At this stage of our development, we consider this to be more important than profitability growth, although both are important long term objectives.
The Customer
St. Francis Farms has been created with a clear focus on the needs of our customers. Through a structured customer discovery process, we have validated the key customer problem as limited resources for supervision and career training for adults with autism who have aged out of the school system. This is a critical issue for our selected target market of autistic adults and families.
The Value Proposition
St. Francis Farms is uniquely positioned to deliver value to autistic adults and families. "St. Francis Farms will provide supervision, career mentoring and life skills in a contemplative Catholic environment which augments the natural abilities and gifts of the growing autistic adult population." In order to be deliver on this value proposition, we offer one of the few adult supervision and mentoring programs for the autistic community which allows them to develop their natural, God-given talents for focused interest and contemplation in a spiritually charged atmosphere while being mindful of the unique needs of this community for socialization, encouragement and guidance motivated by the Catholic principles of Christian love. This capability has taken considerable time and resources to develop and forms the cornerstone of our competitive advantage.
Competitors
We have a number of competitors within the autistic adult care and career skills market. We consider our key competitors to be: Alta Regional Center residential providers and L'Arche Communities. Our understanding of these competitors has been used to refine our strategy and value proposition. We believe that we can compete effectively with the Alta Regional Center residential providers the L'Arche Communities by offering one of the few career training and supervision programs which integrates the spiritual concepts of meditative prayer and contemplation in our program.
Key Strategies
Over the next 6 months our focus will be to apply for grants and funding sources. This task will be undertaken in the context of our broader strategy to purchase land, a building and establish the farm. These strategies are a tactical implementation of our overall business goal as outlined above.
Milestones
Measurement of the successful implementation of our strategies will be governed by measurable development milestones. The milestones that will be achieved over the next 2 years are:
1. Receive a major funding grant for building.
2. Acquire a contract with the local high school.
3. Purchase a second site for the autistic living community.
