Overview
Bubbles Cafe has a clear business objective to develop, produce, promote and distribute non-alcoholic cocktails products. These products have been developed over a month with a core focus on addressing the key customer problem and associated opportunities.
The Business Objectives
As a key component of our growth strategy we consider it critical to identify and outline our business objectives, and align these objectives with clear and measurable development milestones. Our key long term business objective is to launch a new product. While our existing products have been useful for testing the customer problem, new products are required to fully capitalize on our business potential. Our growth path is clearly oriented around the addition of new products, the development of these new products and the subsequent marketing of these. It is understood that costs will be associated with product development and marketing and these have been allowed for in our budget.
The Customer
Bubbles Cafe has been created with a clear focus on the needs of our customers. We have validated the key customer problems as: health choices, personal beliefs, and adventurous drinking without the use of alcohol. This is a critical issue for our selected target market of families, dieters, and workout fanatics.
The Value Proposition
Bubbles Cafe is uniquely positioned to deliver value to families, dieters, and workout fanatics. Bubbles Cafe will create a healthier but creative alternative to popular drinks. In order to be deliver on this value proposition, I can mix non-alcoholic drinks like a bartender would, only without alcohol. For example, mixing Diet Coke with vanilla syrup or instead of whiskey, or club soda infused with a homemade strawberry puree. This capability has taken considerable time and resources to develop and forms the cornerstone of our competitive advantage.
Competitors
We consider the concept of non-alcoholic cocktails to be so unique that I can think of very few competitors in this arena. However, concerning beverage shops in general, we consider our key competitors to be among the following: Argo Tea, Protein Bar, and Bridgeport Coffee Company. Our understanding of these competitors has been used to refine our proposition. We believe that we can compete effectively with Argo Tea, Protein Bar, Bridgeport Coffee Company by providing an increased variety of specialty carbonated and non-carbonated drinks, hot and cold, made from scratch. This also include healthy and handmade snacks, desserts, and eventually meals especially tailored for people on special diets.
Key Strategies
Over the next 6 months our focus will be to create online menu for drinks and food and promote our business to the public via social media, flyers, and print advertising. This task will be undertaken in the context of our broader strategy to create cookbook & catalog, with accompanying mixing kit, for sale at the store, online, and by mail. These strategies are a tactical implementation of our overall business goal as outlined above.
Milestones
Measurement of the successful implementation of our strategies will be governed by measurable development milestones. The milestones that will be achieved over the next 2 years are: securing a mobile location ("food truck") to travel around the Chicago area and sell our product; contact local food and drink distributors if necessary; and lay down the plans for opening a second brick-and mortar operation.
