Overview

Nephi City has a clear objective to distribute utility services and serve the community. These services have been developed over many years with a core focus on convenience and lowest cost possible.

The Business Objectives

When as a key component of our growth strategy we consider it critical to identify and outline our business objectives, and align these objectives with clear and measurable development milestones. Our key long term business objective is to use technology to increase productivity and provide our citizens with more convenient payment options they are asking for. Whilst our existing products have been useful for testing the customer problem, new products are required to fully serve the community like we have sworn to do. Our growth path is clearly oriented around the addition of new products, the development of these new products. It is understood that costs will be associated with product development and these should be allowed for in our budget.

The Customer

Nephi City Corporation was created with a clear focus on the needs of our citizens. Through a structured customer discovery process, we have validated the key customer problem as providing more payment options. This is a critical issue for the Citizens of Nephi.

The Value Proposition

Nephi City is uniquely positioned to deliver value to Citizens of Nephi. "Nephi City will provide our customers with the best service and rates we can.." In order to be deliver on this value proposition, we must maintain our relationship with UMPA to provide low rates and our determination to use technology will allow us to better serve the people.. This capability has taken considerable time and resources to develop and forms the cornerstone of our competitive advantage.

Competitors

We have a number of competitors within the Utilities market. We consider our key competitors to be: Rocky Mountain Power and Questar. Our understanding of these competitors has been used to refine our strategy and value proposition. We believe that we can compete effectively with Rocky Mountain Power and Questar by maintaining exclusivity agreements with those companies.


Key Strategies

Over the next 6 months our focus will be to introduce technological advances to assist in accounts receivable by providing our customers with more convenient payment options.. This task will be undertaken in the context of our broader strategy to have utility sign ups online with payment options for deposits. I would like our entire array of forms to be fillable and available to submit online when our offices are closed. These strategies are a tactical implementation of our overall business goal as outlined above.

Milestones

Measurement of the successful implementation of our strategies will be governed by measurable development milestones. The milestones that will be achieved over the next 2 years are: more payment options, convenient access to all forms, and Make Nephi an even better place to live.
