Overview
EC Honor Society has a clear business objective to develop marketable college students. These services have been developed over 4.5 years with a core focus on addressing the key Brother goals and associated opportunities.
The Business Objectives
As a key component of our growth strategy we consider it critical to identify and outline our business objectives, and align these objectives with clear and measurable development milestones. Our key long term business objective is to develop Brother marketability. It is critical that we balance Brother development with the growth in our organization's numbers. While the desire for developing Brothers may constrain our growth rate, it is more important that our foundation develops before expanding numbers.
The Customer
EC Honor Society has been created with a clear focus on the needs of our Brothers. Through a structured survey process, we have validated the key developmental zones as brotherhood, service, leadership, and scholarship. This is a critical issue for our selected target market of employers, higher education, professional and personal development.
The Value Proposition
EC Honor Society is uniquely positioned to deliver value to employers, higher education, professional and personal development. "Brothers of EC Honor Society will have experience as dynamic leaders in the community that other college students don't have." In order to deliver on this value proposition, we not only educate Brothers as leaders, but we also apply ourselves in the fields of Scholarship, Fellowship, and Leadership in order to produce the desired change in the community as well as ourselves. This capability has taken considerable time and resources to develop and forms the cornerstone of our competitive advantage.
Competitors
We have a number of competitors that seek to develop marketable college students. We consider our key competitors to be other Honor Organizations. Our understanding of these competitors has been used to refine our strategy and value proposition. We believe that we can compete effectively with other Honor Organizations through experienced, motivated mentorship and leadership.
Key Strategies
Over the next 6 months our focus will be to develop leaders, create a sense of urgency, create a guiding coalition, earn short term wins, develop goals, and to promote broad based action. This task will be undertaken in the context of our broader strategy to consolidate our term's wins to inspire more change and development and ultimately look to develop the organization into a community element. These strategies are a tactical implementation of our overall organizational goal as outlined above.
Milestones
Measurement of the successful implementation of our strategies will be governed by measurable development milestones. The milestones that will be achieved over the next 2 years are: 1) Exec and Committee Heads have S.M.A.R.T. goals and a plan set, 2) all Brother survey aspects reach at least 8 of 10 by the end of our term, 3) New Exec continues the mission and brings all survey aspects to at least 9 of 10 by the end of their term.
