EDG Ecological Services Group 1 Page Business Plan

Overview
EDG Ecological Services Group has a clear business objective to produce Ecological permits and assessments services. These services have been developed over 1 month with a core focus on addressing the key customer problem and associated opportunities.
The Business Objectives
As a key component of our growth strategy, we consider it critical to identify and outline our business objectives and align these objectives with clear and measurable development milestones. Our key long term business objective is to acquire new customers. Customer acquisition is considered to be the critical activity and we are seeking to grow the number of customers. We understand that customer growth could be at the expense of profitability, and that there is a cost associated with customer acquisition. Our long term objective is to build a clear customer acquisition process that will lead to a self-sustaining group within the EDG organization.
The Customer
EDG Ecological Services Group has been created with a clear focus on the needs of our customers. Through a structured customer discovery process, we have validated the key customer problem as creating timely permit applications and ecological site evaluations with reasonable, practical, client-focused results. This is a critical issue for our selected target market of Transportation, Parks, and Development clients.
The Value Proposition
EDG Ecological Services Group is uniquely positioned to deliver value to Transportation, Parks, and Development clients. "The EDG Ecological Services Group will provide our services in a way that makes the permitting and site evaluation process collaborative and effective for our clients." In order to be deliver on this value proposition, we will harness our passion for creating and enhancing spaces of all types. This will drive us to maintain collaboration with all our project stakeholders to drive the project to the best possible result. This capability has been the result of decades of leadership and dedication within the firm to develop the atmosphere to support a process like this, and it is the cornerstone of our competitive advantage.
Competitors
We have a number of competitors within the Ecological permits and assessments market. We consider our key competitors to be: ASC Group, BL Companies, Lawhon Associates, MAD Scientist, URS, Biohabitats, EnviroScience, Davy Resource Group. Our understanding of these competitors has been used to refine our strategy and value proposition. We believe that we can compete effectively with these companies and others ASC Group by maintaining our focus as an integrated design service company. We will leverage our passion for integrating the built and natural environments to outperform the competition.
Key Strategies
Over the next 6 months our focus will be to Dedicate 25% of the Environmental PSG Director/Principal Business development time to develop new clients in Ecological Services. This task will be undertaken in the context of our broader strategy to evaluate the hiring of a Project Manager to serve as a seller/doer for the group to preserve clients and help identify and obtain new clients in the marketplace. These strategies are a tactical implementation of our overall business goal as outlined above.
Milestones
Measurement of the successful implementation of our strategies will be governed by measurable development milestones. The milestones that will be achieved over the next two years are: launching the Group, obtaining three clients (one of which should come from outside the firm), and hire staff dedicated to the group.
