Crawford's Canine Training Academy 1 Page Business Plan

Dog Obedience training Business Plan

Crawford's Canine Training Academy 1 Page Business Plan

Overview

Crawford's Canine Training Academy has a clear business objective to produce Dog Obedience training services. These services have been developed over 12 months with a core focus on addressing the key customer problem and associated opportunities.

The Business Objectives

As a key component of our growth strategy we consider it critical to identify and outline our business objectives, and align these objectives with clear and measurable development milestones. Our key long term business objective is to acquire new customers. Customer acquisition is considered to be the critical activity and we are seeking to grow the number of customers. We understand that customer growth could be at the expense of profitability, and that there is a cost associated with customer acquisition. Our long term objective is to build a clear customer acquisition process.

The Customer

Crawford's Canine Training Academy has been created with a clear focus on the needs of our customers. Through a structured customer discovery process, we have validated the key customer problem is wanting their dog to behave and respond correctly in many different settings and maintaining a well balanced dog. This is a critical issue for our selected target market of Military families.

The Value Proposition

Crawford's Canine Training Academy is uniquely positioned to deliver value to Military families. "Crawford's Canine Training Academy will correct problematic dog behaviors and mold them to recognize and respond to obedience cues even in high distraction areas. We help owners to understand their dogs characteristics as well as thought pattern and give them tools to modify them accordingly." In order to deliver on this value proposition, we have been certified through Animal Behavior College in 2014 and have been actively studying dog breeds since 2006. I have volunteered at animal shelters and have been able to see and experience all different types of dog behaviors. This capability has taken considerable time and resources to develop and forms the cornerstone of our competitive advantage.

Competitors

We have a number of competitors within the Dog Obedience training market. We consider our key competitors to be: Petsmart and
Petco . Our understanding of these competitors has been used to refine our strategy and value proposition. We believe that we can compete effectively with Petsmart and Petco by offering private lessons. We can move the training sessions from secluded places to real life situations where the dog will learn how to be obedient even in high distraction areas. Also offering problems clinics can prove very helpful. House calls can be arranged to get the entire family involved in the training.

Key Strategies

Over the next 6 months our focus will be to set up a working relationship with local veterinarians, dog groomers, and become familiar with local dog parks. By using social media I can send out special offers to promote thos business. This task will be undertaken in the context of our broader strategy to achieve a good clientele and offer specialized classes through the American Kennel Association. These strategies are a tactical implementation of our overall business goal as outlined above.

Milestones

Measurement of the successful implementation of our strategies will be governed by measurable development milestones. The milestones that will be achieved over the next 2 years are: obtain over 100 clients, train therapy dogs for disabled persons, and become an expert at rehabilitating aggressive dogs.
