Overview

Fingerprints has a clear business objective to produce, promote and distribute Hand dyed fabric products as well as offering classes to learn dyeing techniques. These products have been developed over years through experimentation and selling on a very small scale. The. Urgent focus is on addressing the key customer problems and associated opportunities.

The Business Objectives

A key component of our growth strategy is to identify and outline our business objectives, and align these objectives with clear and measurable development milestones. Our key long term business objective is to acquire new customers. Customer acquisition is considered to be the critical activity and we are seeking to grow the number of customers. We understand that customer growth could be at the expense of profitability, and that there is a cost associated with customer acquisition. Our long term objective is to build a clear customer retention process.

The Customer

Fingerprints has been created with a clear focus on the needs of our customers. The key customer need that we are fulfilling is offering unique fabrics for their unique creations. This is a critical issue for our selected target market of quilters and fiber artists.

The Value Proposition

Fingerprints is uniquely positioned to deliver value to quilters. "Fingerprints will provide beautiful and unique fabrics that will add an unexpected element in their quilt." In order to deliver on this value proposition, My color and pattern sensibilities are unique to me. I create my fabrics using high quality materials.. This capability has taken considerable time and resources to develop and forms the cornerstone of our competitive advantage.

Competitors

We have a number of competitors within the hand dyed fabric market. We consider our key competitors to be: other hand dyers. Our understanding of these competitors has been used to refine our strategy and value proposition. We believe that we can compete effectively with other hand dyers by focusing on quality and creativity as well as excellent customer service.


Key Strategies

Over the next 6 months our focus will be to create a website and to line up opportunities within the quilting community so that we can set up a booth for selling our products. This task will be undertaken in the context of our broader strategy to create new lines. These strategies are a tactical implementation of our overall business goal as outlined above.

Milestones

The successful implementation of our strategies will be governed by measurable development milestones. The milestones that will be achieved over the next 2 years are: 1. Brand recognition. My designs have a unique style which I want to have as being recognized as Fingerprints. 2. Having a dedicated clientele who repeatedly purchase my products. 3. Being accepted to participate in the larger quilt shows throughout the country as a vendor.
