Overview
Kele has a clear business objective to develop, produce, promote and distribute plantain based dishes with Kelewele(a local dish of diced riped plantain) as the front-runner of Kale's products and services. These products and services have been developed over few months with a core focus on addressing the key customer problem and associated opportunities.
The Business Objectives
When as a key component of our growth strategy we consider it critical to identify and outline our business objectives, and align these objectives with clear and measurable development milestones. Our key long term business objective is to grow revenue. Rapid revenue growth is considered the most critical and measurable business goal. At this stage of our development, we consider this to be more important than profitability growth, although both are important long term objectives.
The Customer
Kele has been created with a clear focus on the needs of our customers. Through a structured customer discovery process, we have validated the key customer problem as the natural human hunger for a meal inbetween meals. This is a critical issue for our selected target market of Kelewele lovers.
The Value Proposition
Kele is uniquely positioned to deliver value to anybody who can chew. "Kele will serve your favourite plantain dish, fast, and just the way you like it." In order to be deliver on this value proposition, we have identified that plantain dishes take little time to prepare, this makes it the food you would easily think about when hungry. Therefore Kele combines multiple heat sources with expert hands and a delivery service to serve customers "fast and just the way you like it." This capability has taken considerable time and resources to develop and forms the cornerstone of our competitive advantage.
Competitors
We have a number of competitors within the plantain dish market. We consider our key competitors to be the small wayside Kelewele sellers for now. Our understanding of these competitors has been used to refine our strategy and value proposition. We believe that we can compete effectively with Kelewele sellers by our fast quality service and delivery.
Key Strategies
Over the next 6 months our focus will be to establish a consistently unique quality taste for the Kelewele and serve customers in less time. This task will be undertaken in the context of our broader strategy to gradually introduce new plantain based dishes along with the Kelewele and to expand campuses and other parts of the country. These strategies are a tactical implementation of our overall business goal as outlined above.
Milestones
Measurement of the successful implementation of our strategies will be governed by measurable development milestones. The milestones that will be achieved over the next 2 years are: obtain and note every 100 customers, introduce a new dish every quarter and to introduce fried plantain dishes into other cultures (I. e. open in other countries)
