Overview
DKABAA Entertainment has a clear business objective to develop, produce, promote and distribute conscious music. Our current musical projects have been developed over the past year with a core focus on addressing the key customer problem and associated opportunities.
The Business Objectives
As a key component of our growth strategy, we consider it critical to identify and outline our business objectives, and align these objectives with clear and measurable development milestones. Our key long term business objective is to release new music and promote new artists. While our existing releases have been useful for gauging audience response to conscious music, new music and artists are required to fully capitalise on our business potential. Our growth path is clearly oriented around the addition of new releases and artists, the development of these new releases and artists and the subsequent marketing of these. It is understood that costs will be associated with product development and marketing and these have been allowed for in our budget.
The Customer
DKABAA Entertainment has been created with a clear focus on the needs of our customers. Through a structured customer discovery process, we have validated the key customer problem as the need for conscious music with meaning and clarity to dilute the mainstream popularization of meaningless hip hop music. This is a critical issue for our selected target market of young, socially conscious adults.
The Value Proposition
DKABAA Entertainment is uniquely positioned to deliver value to young, socially conscious adults. "DKABAA Entertainment provides an informative message that is otherwise missing in pop culture and mainstream music" In order to deliver on this value proposition, we offer a unique sound which is comprised of multiple young producers, vocalists, and rappers that allows DKABAA Entertainment to be more efficient at capturing the issues and styles that are relevant to today's youth. This capability has taken considerable time and resources to develop and forms the cornerstone of our competitive advantage.
Competitors
We have a number of competitors within the Music market. We consider our key competitors to be: Talib Kweli, Lupe Fiasco, Immortal Technique, Locksmith, Logic, Kendrick Lamar, J Cole, and Blue Scholars. Our understanding of these competitors has been used to refine our strategy and value proposition. We believe that we can compete effectively with Talib Kweli, Lupe Fiasco, Immortal Technique, Locksmith, Logic, Kendrick Lamar, J Cole, and Blue Scholars by utilizing our young age to better connect us to our audience compared to our competitors who are slightly older than the target market.
Key Strategies
Over the next 6 months, our focus will be to produce musical content such as singles, EP's, albums, etc.. This task will be undertaken in the context of our broader strategy to establish an online and social media platform to promote music and musicians, collaborate with new artists, and create a label where we can develop, produce, promote, and distribute for other artists under one name. These strategies are a tactical implementation of our overall business goal as outlined above.
Milestones
Measurement of the successful implementation of our strategies will be governed by measurable development milestones. The milestones that will be achieved over the next 2 years are: Launch our first album "DKABAA". Create an online and social media platform to promote our music and attract new talent. Establish a Record Label with the state of Georgia so that we can legally begin to sign new artists and develop, produce, promote, and distribute their work.
