Scrub sensation has a clear business objective to develop, produce, promote and distribute face and body scrub products. These products have been developed over many months with a core focus on addressing the key customer problem and associated opportunities.

The Business Objectives

As a key component of our growth strategy, we consider it critical to identify and outline our business objectives, and align these objectives with clear and measurable development milestones. Our key long term business objective is to acquire new customers. Customer acquisition is considered to be the critical activity and we are seeking to grow the number of customers. We understand that customer growth could be at the expense of profitability, and that there is a cost associated with customer acquisition. Our long term objective is to build a clear customer acquisition process.

The Customer

Scrub sensation has been created with a clear focus on the needs of our customers. Through a structured customer discovery process, we have validated the key customer problem as Dry skin. This is a critical issue for our selected target market of organic lovers of all types.

The Value Proposition
 

Scrub sensation is uniquely positioned to deliver value to organic lovers. "Scrub sensation will promise to provide an ALL natural product containing only 3 or less ingredients that aids in dry skin (possibly eczema and acne) and clogged pores with out the use of harsh chemicals!." In order to be deliver on this value proposition, we will only use ingredients that are natural and sourced locally/through Canada. This capability has taken considerable time and resources to develop and forms the cornerstone of our competitive advantage.

 

Competitors

We have a number of competitors within the face and body scrubs market. We consider our key competitors to be: Lush and Rocky Mountain. Our understanding of these competitors has been used to refine our strategy and value proposition. We believe that we can compete effectively with Lush and Rocky Mountain by specializing in one product type (until expansion) and being a small business/local vs lush being mass produced.


Key Strategies

Over the next 6 months, our focus will be to ask for help and advice from someone who runs a good business, promote my product by using it on my own skin and handing out free samples for others to try and give feedback on, make improvements and adjustments to the product according to the feedback then perfect the product, advertise on social media and verbally, approach local companies who may want to distribute the product, disperse business cards, have tables at local markets. This task will be undertaken in the context of our broader strategy to find local businesses who may like to distribute the product in their stores, join many local events and markets to sell and promote and create awareness of my product then expand to more than just scrubs. These strategies are a tactical implementation of our overall business goal as outlined above.

Milestones

Measurement of the successful implementation of our strategies will be governed by measurable development milestones. The milestones that will be achieved over the next 2 years are: Launching my first product Obtaining 100 customers Expanding to more products
