  1. Nichola, one thing to keep in mind is "margin". Major players such as Pumpkin patch are usually charging the price they are in order to make a fair return on their investment in stock, realestate etc. Whilst you are small you may be able to get away with lower pricing, however eventually, unless you can source stock at a lower price point, you will probably find your self having to charge similar prices.

Is Online cheaper than Offline? Not necessarily. Whilst it may appear appealing to sell online, the costs can be just as significant as those operating a physical store. Consider the cost of obtaining good ranking for your keywords. Unless they are particularly niche, you could expect to spend $10-20k before getting close to page 1. If you are paying per click for visitors, expect to pay about $1 per click, with a "High" conversion rate being 2%. this means that the cost of customer acquisition online can be as high as $50 per customer.

If you are looking at low cost options such as an ebay store your cost of customer acquisition could be significantly lower.

The cost of acquiring customers (Whether via online or retail) is the killer of most new business.

Why not check out our new customer acquisition app. Recently launched for Android. You can find it Here: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.appsbuilder421068&feature=more_from_developer#?t=W251bGwsMSwyLDEwMiwiY29tLmFwcHNidWlsZGVyNDIxMDY4Il0.
