Smart Bookstore has a clear business objective to distribute all types of book service. These services has not been developed yet but these services will have a core focus on addressing the key customer problem and associated opportunities.

The Business Objectives

When as a key component of our growth strategy, we consider it critical to identify and outline our business objectives, and align these objectives with clear and measurable development milestones. Our key long term business objective is to grow profitability. It is critical that we balance revenue growth with the growth in our cost base. Whilst the desire for profitable growth may constrain our growth rate, it is more important that revenue growth in isolation.

The Customer

Smart Bookstore is created with a clear focus on the needs of our customers. Through a structured customer discovery process, we have validated the key customer problem as the need to spend their money for bookw. This is a critical issue for our selected target market of the students, the teenagers, and the housewives.

The Value Proposition

Smart Bookstore is uniquely positioned to deliver value to the students, the teenagers, and the housewives. "Smart Bookstore will provide books that are not provided by other bookstore in this city with affordable price." In order to be deliver on this value proposition, we will make sure the distribution channel of the books is very clear, so we Smart Bookstore can provide more books conpared with the competitors. This capability has taken considerable time and resources to develop and forms the cornerstone of our competitive advantage.

Competitors

We have a number of competitors within the book market in Lubuk Linggau. We consider our key competitors to be: Mutiara bookstore, and Kenanga bookstore. Our understanding of these competitors has been used to refine our strategy and value proposition. We believe that we can compete effectively with Mutiara bookstore, and Kenanga bookstore by making the excellent layout store and providing more types of book that the compeitors do not provide. The customers also can walk around freely to find their books. There is a music that makes customers feel comfortable being in the store. All these 3 key advantages are not provided by the competitors.


Key Strategies

Over the next 6 months our focus will be to take advantage by providing more types of book. The advantage here means we increase the price to gain the more profit. This task will be undertaken in the context of our broader strategy to provide more types of book every month. Beside the book, the store can also provide stationaries. These strategies are the tactical implementation of our overall business goal as outlined above.

Milestones

Measurement of the successful implementation of our strategies will be governed by measurable development milestones. The milestones that will be achieved over the next 2 years are: obtain 1000 regular customers over the first 2 years, launch new books every month without skipping one month, open the stationary to get more customers and profit.
