17thMinute has a clear business objective to promote learning skills and strategies for K-5 academics and 6-12 mathematics. This researched based approach has been developed over 10 years with a core focus on addressing the key achievement road blocks and associated opportunities.

The Business Objectives

When as a key component of our growth strategy we consider it critical to identify and outline our business objectives, and align these objectives with clear and measurable development milestones. Our key short term business objective is to acquire new customers. Customer acquisition is considered to be the critical activity and we are seeking to grow the number of customers. Our long term objective is to build a clear learner development process.

The Customer

17thminute has been created with a clear focus on enhancing the learner's learning experience. Through a structured discovery process, we have validated the key success factor as providing learner specific learning strategies. This is a critical issue for our selected target market of Parents of K - 12 students.

The Value Proposition

17thminute is uniquely positioned to deliver value to Parents of K - 12 students. "17thminute will provide students with the support, tools and strategies to achieve their very best." In order to deliver on this value proposition, we work with the student and their school resources to strengthen their unique learning style. This capability has taken considerable time and resources to develop and forms the cornerstone of our competitive advantage.

Competitors

We have a number of competitors providing tutoring services. We consider our key competitors to be: AG Gaston Boys and Girls Club, Sylvan, The Tutoring Club, Vestavia Hills Learning Center. Our understanding of these competitors has been used to refine our strategy and value proposition. We believe that we can effectively gain and retain market share because of our focus on partnering with the existing academic environment to teach students to consistently implement proven strategies for learning and academic success.


Key Strategies

Over the next 6 months our focus will be to advertise with local churches, schools, recreation centers, sports clubs, PTA's, libraries. This task will be undertaken in the context of our broader strategy to hire and train staff to provide school based services. These strategies are a tactical implementation of our overall business goal as outlined above.

Milestones

Measurement of the successful implementation of our strategies will be governed by measurable development milestones. The milestones that will be achieved over the next 2 weeks are: 6 bookings per week; Launch client newsletter for trends in education; Publish to social media weekly on learning
