Overview

Tea & Company has a clear business objective to develop, produce, promote and offer the experience and learning about whole leaf teas drinking and blending. This project is still in the planning stage planned to kick off within this years third quarter with a core focus on addressing the key customer problem and associated opportunities.

The Business Objectives

When as a key component of our growth strategy we consider it critical to identify and outline our business objectives, and align these objectives with clear and measurable development milestones. Our key long term business objective is to create a new concept. Whilst the existing competitors have been useful for testing the customer problem, a new concept is required to fully capitalise on this business potential. Our growth path is clearly oriented around the addition of new experiences, the development of these new experiences and the subsequent marketing of these. It is understood that costs will be associated with product development and marketing and these have been allowed for in our budget.

The Customer

Tea & Company has been created with a clear focus on the needs of our customers. Through a structured customer discovery process, we have validated the key customer problem as lack of tea culture. This is a critical issue for our selected target market of Entrepreneurs, independent, upper class citizens, curious and sophisticated young and middle aged men and women (25 - 80).

The Value Proposition

Tea & Company is uniquely positioned to deliver value to this target segment. "Tea & Company will provide a unique experience of discovering a whole new world of sensations, flavored and aromas and the ability to make their own blends. A space to slow down and relax from the daily stress. A quite atmosphere to chat, think or work." In order to be deliver on this value proposition, we our main difference is the figure of Rocio Cáceres, Certified Tea Sommelier & Tea Blender, giving a face behind the company. Our unique offer is not only the outstanding quality of the products but the interactive experience of learning, creating and sharing. Rocio is well known, respected and is a tea knowledgeable person that gives the personality and the technical validation to the experience. This characteristic has taken considerable time and resources to develop and forms the cornerstone of our competitive advantage.

Competitors

We don't have direct competitors delivering similar experience and learning about whole leaf teas drinking and blending in the market. We do have a number of competitors as substitute experience. We consider our key competitors to be: Te Bar, Cafe Paris, Bonafide, Havanna, Cafe Martinez, Balcarce, traditional cafes and bars (zuquinho, vitrage, shopping, continental). Our understanding of these competitors has been used to refine our strategy and value proposition. We believe that we can compete effectively with them by the figure of Rocio Caceres as the owner and tea master. The interactive experience. The focus on only whole leaf teas, the learning and sharing, all of these being in existent currently in the city.


Key Strategies

Over the next 6 months our focus will be to learn and understand the secrets of tea blending and consumers preferences . This task will be undertaken in the context of our broader strategy to Develop a selection of blends to offer and have a finished idea of the tea store where they will be served and sold . These strategies are a tactical implementation of our overall business goal as outlined above.

Milestones

Measurement of the successful implementation of our strategies will be governed by measurable development milestones. The milestones that will be achieved over the next 2 years are: Opening, First day fully booked, Becoming a generic brand in the city
